About Susan Head

A pianist, performance coach, piano teacher and music educator Susan is currently teaching piano at St Catherines School for Girls, Waverley NSW, private piano lessons and performance coaching at her home in Bronte, and lecturing in the Orff Schulwerk approach to music education for the Orff Schulwerk Association and as part of the Conservatorium Significant Methods in the BMusEd Course.

Susan seeks and welcomes new sources of musical influence and teaching material to guide musical expression and creativity. Through continued self-study and professional development, Susan is always learning and playing in the field of music. She offers a fresh and contemporary approach to teaching, yet her years as a student, teacher and performer have given her a wealth of experience on which to call.

Susan has studied Performance at the Greenwich School of Music, New York and uses the Kodaly, Dalcroze and Orff Schulwerk approaches in her teaching.

“I offer thanks to the many students and fellow teachers with whom I have had the privilege to work . The nature of the teacher pupil relationship is definitely a two way street as we learn from each other. The collegial relationship of others on similar journeys is equally a pleasure to share. Thank you for playing with me.” Susan Head
